When making the choice to own art, “love how it makes you feel” !
To have said … “it speaks to me” “it moves me” “it inspires me” is to have experienced art... ( expressed in music, painting, photography, architecture, dance, etc etc). Art is engaging, art beckons an emotional response. The desire to own art is a legitimate response to the attraction and positive emotional satisfaction it provides.
How art is made is irrelevant, all that matters is the emotion it provokes. Photography has historically been associated with reality, an assumed inherent truthfulness of light, lens and film which has the potential to amplify the emotional response to a photograph.
Since Y2K the “definition of photography” has been challenged with advances in digital technology. Photography as an Art should only be judged by what it communicates and the emotional impact / response it provokes… does it speak to you?
My love affair with photography dates back almost 60 years to filament flash bulbs, a 4×5 speed graphic and 2- 1950’s roll film cameras … within this website are my photographs from the early 70’s through today, the tools and technology used today are vastly different…
